Sonny Unger Banquet Details Released NFL lineup set for fundraiser. March 26, 2008. Dayton Daily News Circle April 23. That's when the Sonny Unger Foundation Banquet will be held at the Dayton Convention Center. The event is a fundraiser for Centerville High School.
The impressive lineup of speakers will feature NFL players and former Ohio State Buckeyes Mike Vrabel, the Patriots outside linebacker, Jets kicker Mike Nugent, Colts wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez and Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk. ESPN College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit will serve as the moderator.
Herbstreit, Nugent and Hawk are former Elks standouts. This year's Sonny Unger Scholarship recipients are Centerville senior football players David Fleming and Ryan Donnini.
"The theme of the evening will be life in the NFL, a behind-the-scenes look at professional football players, " said Elks football coach Ron Ullery.

All proceeds go to the Centerville High School Sonny Unger Scholarship Fund. Over 41 years, 64 scholarships totaling over
$120,000.00 to 29 different universities.
Sonny Unger, a 1963 graduate of Centerville High School and outstanding fullback on the football team, was killed in Viet Nam in 1966. We honor his work ethic, leadership, and humility with this scholarship fund.
