Elks Enjoy Tremendously Successful Fall Season November 12, 2007. The Centerville High School Varsity Athletic Teams competed in 9 sports this fall in the Greater Western Ohio Conference's Central Division, capturing 7 championships and two second place finishes.
Four of our student-athletes were selected as GWOC Player of the Year due to their outstanding efforts.
They are:
David Fleming - football
Jenna Caylor - girls volleyball
Shawn Roberts - boys cross country
Whitney Wagner - girls tennis
Five of our coaches were selected as GWOC Coach of the Year for leading their teams to great seasons.
They are:
Monte Moser - girls volleyball
Don Skelton - girls soccer
Jim Weckesser - boys cross country
Rolland Young - boys golf
Ron Ullery - football
On an academic level, we had a total of 603 student-athletes compete this fall in one of our programs and 412 of them (68%) earned a 1st quarter GPA of 3.2 or higher.
With the success of our fall teams, we are currently in 1st place in the All Sports Trophy standings with a score of 58.5. Beavercreek is in second place with a score of 44.
